Oven Beef Stew
 
There is the best Oven Beef Stew Recipe I've come across. The oven baking lets you control the temperature better than a cooktop pot. That makes this beef stew more foolproof and reliable every time. Some beew stew recipes do not reliably cook the beef to a tender state but this one does.

2 lbs beef stew meat

2 tablespoons oil

3 medium potatos

1-1/2 cup carrots

1 medium onion

1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce

1 can of water (fill the tomato sauce can)

1 packet Lawry's Beef Stew Seasoning mix

 

Cut the beef stew meat into bite sized pieces and shake in a mixture of flour, salt and pepper to coat the meat.
Brown the meat in 2 tablespoons of oil..

Peel the potatos.
Cut the potatos, carrots and onions into bite sized pieces.

Mix the meat, potatos, carrots, onion and beef stew seasoning together with the tomato sauce and water.

Bake the entire mixture in a covered casserole dish at 300 degrees F. for 2-1/2 hours.

 

Mixture can be stirred occasionally but this is not required.
