Oven
Beef Stew
|
There is the best Oven Beef Stew Recipe I've come across.
The oven baking lets you control the temperature better than a
cooktop pot. That makes this beef stew more foolproof and reliable
every time. Some beew stew recipes do not reliably cook the beef to a tender
state but this one does.
|
2
lbs beef stew meat
|
2
tablespoons oil
|
3
medium potatos
|
1-1/2
cup carrots
|
1
medium onion
|
1
15 ounce can of tomato sauce
|
1
can of water (fill the tomato sauce can)
|
1
packet Lawry's Beef Stew Seasoning mix
|
|
Cut the beef stew
meat into bite sized pieces and shake in a mixture of flour,
salt and pepper to coat the meat.
Brown the meat in 2 tablespoons of oil..
|
Peel the
potatos.
Cut the potatos, carrots and onions into bite sized pieces.
|
Mix the
meat, potatos, carrots, onion and beef stew seasoning together
with the tomato sauce and water.
|
Bake the
entire mixture in a covered casserole dish at 300 degrees
F. for 2-1/2 hours.
|
|
Mixture
can be stirred occasionally but this is not required.
